Baltic Ag students participated on Wednesday in the 2025 Construction Camp at Southeast Technical College. The camp, sponsored by the Associated General Contractors of South Dakota, exposes high school students to various areas of the construction trades. For example, students got the chance to operate heavy equipment through a challenge course, install concrete, and perform other building tasks that would typically be found on a job site in South Dakota. It is noted that nearly all trades are listed as “Hot Careers” by the Department of Labor (https://dlr.sd.gov/lmic/menu_hot_careers.aspx)

Jim Clendenin, from the South Dakota Soil Health Coalition, visited with the 7th and 9th-grade Agriculture students this Tuesday to discuss soil health practices in South Dakota. The students learned many interesting facts about soil health and participated in hands-on exercises. Jim stresses the importance of sound, research-based practices to ensure the future of agricultural sustainability.

Dear Baltic Families
The Baltic PTO has been working with a local artist on some exciting updates to our elementary playground, and we can’t wait for you to see the finished product! We’re hoping to have everything wrapped up in the next few weeks—but in the meantime, we need your help.
As you visit the playground, please be mindful of any fresh paint and honor any areas marked off with cones or tape. We’ve already had to repaint a few items and would greatly appreciate your cooperation in helping us preserve the work being done.
Thank you for your continued support and for helping us keep the playground safe and looking great for our kids!
Warmly,
Baltic PTO
