Baltic High School Announces Hall of Fame Class of 2025
Baltic High School is proud to announce the members of the Baltic High School Hall of Fame Class of 2025. Listed below are the recipients who were selected by the Hall of Fame Selection Committee for induction into the Baltic High School Hall of Fame. The Hall of Fame induction will take place at halftime of the Baltic Homecoming Football game on Friday, September 26th, at approximately 7:45 pm.
Jennifer (Hasvold) Froemming – Class of 1995
Jennifer Hasvold built an outstanding legacy as an athlete, leader, and educator. A six-year varsity letter winner in track and field, she earned a state championship in the high jump her senior year after placing runner-up as a sophomore and fourth as a junior. She also participated in the triple jump at state in 1994 and 1995. During her senior year, she set school records in the high jump, long jump, and triple jump, along with multiple meet records. Her high jump mark of 5’6”, achieved in 1995, still stands as a school record and placed her on the South Dakota All-Time Top 10 list. She also captained the track team her senior year.
A versatile athlete, she lettered in cross country for four years and was named Most Improved Runner in 1990. Her junior year, she shifted to volleyball, where she earned Most Improved Player, then earned a varsity letter as a senior and the Coca-Cola Unsung Hero Award. Her contributions extended far beyond athletics, including oral interpretation, spring plays, and one-act plays with a state performance in Spoon River Anthology in 1992. She served as the football statistician for 6 years. Jennifer played girls’ basketball for 2 years and then became a statistician for 2. In addition, she served on the yearbook committee, was a member of the band, served as the Girls State representative, and was an active FFA officer. In 1995, she received the State FFA Degree.
After high school, she continued her academic and athletic career at the University of South Dakota, where she competed in track and field and was later inducted with her 1998 team into the USD Hall of Fame. Jennifer earned her teaching and coaching degrees. She currently teaches middle school math at Brandon-Evansville in Minnesota, where she was named Teacher of the Year in 2023. She served as the head track coach from 2006–2019, she guided her girls' teams to 7 conference championships and two runner-up titles from 2010 to 2018 and two section titles. Jennifer was named the Section 6A coach of the year in 2010 and 2014.
2001 State B Boys Cross Country Championship Team

The 2001 Baltic Boys Cross Country team set out to defend its 2000 State Championship and did so in dominating fashion to win their second consecutive State B Cross Country Championship. The team competed at 15 meets during the season, winning 10 and placing second at two of them. The team won the Tri-Valley conference meet by scoring seven points and won the Region 2B meet with a total of 11 points. The team won a total of 60 medals throughout the 2001 season. At the State Meet in Rapid City, the team competed against a total of 113 runners with Patrick King winning the individual title, Dane Yde placing 3rd, Brock Hess placing 7th, Preston Snow placing 27th, and Casey Statvold placing 52nd. The Championship team score of 11 points is one of the lowest team scores in state history. Coach Kurt Schultz was also named the South Dakota Cross Country Coach of the Year for the second year in a row.
