Baltic School District Building Project
Dear Patrons of the Baltic School District,
In the spring of 2021, the Baltic School Board and administration considered the growing enrollment of the district and whether current facilities would meet the short and long-term needs of the district. A facility planning committee was formed, a facility and educational needs assessment was completed, and a proposal to build a new high school was presented to the School Board. The School Board held a public meeting on January 24, 2022, at which the plans and means of finance were presented to those in attendance. The School Board made the decision to move forward with a bond election to finance the project. On April 12, 2022, 73.1% of those voting approved of the project. After 11 months of planning, construction began in March 2023. The project includes 18 classrooms, a performing arts center, a gymnasium with a walking track, a vocational shop, instrumental and vocal music rooms, a wrestling room, and administrative offices. Completion is scheduled for August 2024 in time for the start of the 2024-25 school year.
